Introduction
Are you ready to go down the rabbit hole? To visit a surreal world, where black is white and white is carrots?
A friend, Metacognician in Shanghai, describes the situation as follows: “Life is more absurd than movies. I've gone down the rabbit hole too, when it just becomes more and more strange and you wonder how that all is supposed to make sense.” I asked him if I should just embrace it. He answered, “Why should you ... change the universe?”
It started with a psychotic named Jim Kiraly who resides, we think, at 6329 Twinberry Circle, Avila Beach, California.
Jim Kiraly is a respected citizen. A churchgoer. A Vice President of Transamerica Corporation. And a violent abuser who tried to use an emergency anti-violence measure, one intended to protect battered women, to stop his victim in a wheelchair from writing a book.
Concise enough? :)
For attorneys: Jim Kiraly filed for CLETS against his son and victim, who lived 200 miles away, did not own a car, and was in a wheelchair. His son and victim was not asked to end communications. Jim had no (zero) specific and relevant allegations that were not perjury. But he turned down repeated offers of no-contact and a signed stipulation that gave him everything but CLETS. He insisted on CLETS if his victim ever once “discussed” him with third parties.
In the end, Jim Kiraly signed an agreement far weaker than the ones he'd been offered.
A review of Court paperwork and other materials will tend to confirm that Jim and other parties, including attorneys on all sides, committed multiple felonies, crimes, and faux pas. :P
The word “abuser” is stated here publicly and without equivocation. A formal offer is hereby made to reaffirm the word in writing and under oath. Attorneys will understand the significance of the point. In short, there is little terror of a threatened defamation suit on this side. Actually, we feel that such a suit will fit nicely up Jim Kiraly's abuser ass.
Jim has one son, Ken Kiraly, who invented the Amazon Kindle and is one of the leads at Amazon's secret Lab126. Another son, Tom Kiraly is one of the leads, a Vice President-CFO type, at medical insurance firms, including one of the largest, Humana Corporation.
These people and some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley legal circles have committed or are involved in multiple crimes.
For the next decade or two, we're going to explore the crimes that these people committed, the motivations and the denial involved, the background and histories that led each person to make the choices that they did, and ways to build upon what happened and move towards positive societal goals.
There's plenty to go over. These people committed or were involved in: Spousal abuse, child abuse, DDOS (a highly prosecutable violation of CFAA), extortion, perjury, conspiracy to commit perjury (a possible felony), false police reports, conspiracy to file false police reports (a possible felony), unlawful threats, barratry, defamation, malpractice, civil harassment, criminal harassment, abuse of process, and violations of SCCBA Professional Standards.
The point was to force Jim's oldest son and victim, me, to sign a gag order. I was in a wheelchair. I'd never made a single inappropriate threat against my abuser. I wasn't even asked to not to call anybody. But Jim threatened to put me in a violence database unless I agreed never to write about him.
I won the right to write, but I lost my home of 25 years, most of my possessions, my chances for retirement, everything. Everything but a realization.
I can make a difference. I can conduct research for legitimate and reasonable purposes, document what happened, and analyze the choices of the people involved:
- Jim Kiraly, abuser. Possibly Treasurer at St. Johns Lutheran Church. Vice President of Transamerica Corporation. Also connected to New Life Pismo Church. Involved with Service Core for Retired Executives (SCORE).
- Grace Kiraly, abuse victim and Christ Follower.
- Tom Kiraly, abuse victim, VP or CFO of firms such as Hanger Inc., Humana Corporation, and Sheridan Healthcare.
- Gail Cheda, slightly demented Realtor, spittle flying.
- Ken Kiraly, abuse victim, inventor of the Amazon Kindle, lead at Amazon's secret Lab126, sociopath.
- Tom Stutzman of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a Family Law attorney whose hobbies include martial arts and alleged sexual harassment
- John Perrott of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a personable albeit lazy Family Law attorney who has a slight tendency towards fraud and malpractice
- Chris Burdick, head of the Santa Clara County Bar Association (SCCBA). Chris, you broke a written promise to speak with me because, you said, we had “Prior...” You didn't finish the sentence. Were you worried that I might take false statements to the State Bar? What's the deal with you and Hoge Fenton, anyway? What will we find if we dig?
- Michael Bonetto of Hoge Fenton. Michael, seriously, what are you?
- Alison Buchanan of Hoge Fenton, ethics specialist. Alison, did you contribute to the SCCBA Professional Standards, or was that before your time?
- Tracie Zerr of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a woman of boundless intelligence and sensitivity.
- Maggie Desmond of Hoge Fenton. Maggie, information, please. What is your role in Hoge Fenton's campaign to hush victims of abuse? When the clients that you've protected beat up women, how do you compartmentalize?
Maggie told me that she didn't know what she could say to me about what happened. However, we have decades to work it out. It will be productive. I'd like to direct the attention of attorneys and other parties to the:

140215. These are screenshots of a new Linux distro that Crazy Coder is working on. Crazy Coder has this to say: “So my new distro is called Nutra Linux. I did some work on it and now I have gtk themes and such. It's based from Shell Linux and tinycore. The basic idea behind it is to be a traveling distro. It's made to fit onto small CD's and whatnot. and it's designed to be light and flexible.” As of mid-February 2014, Nutra Linux was available at the link shown below. However, the link may have broken since then: https://sourceforge.net/projects/nutralinux/ The license for the screenshots is CC BY-NC-ND 3.0, also known as Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial No Derivative Works 3.0. Tom Kiraly 1971 Drawing

140214. I've preserved the illustration presented below for over 40 years. It's presented here to serve such purposes as may be “Legitimate” and “Reasonable”. This is a drawing by Tom Kiraly that was most likely made circa 1970 to 1971. Tom would have been ten or eleven years old at the time. Ken Kiraly, whose portrait is included as part of the artwork, would have been seven or eight years old. Scott Kiraly, whose signature appears here, would have been two years younger; five or six. LittleCoder appears as well though he's obscured by a book that he's reading. He'd have been about twelve or thirteen years of age. For a large version of the drawing, click here. As this illustration was created specifically for me, as the text therein tends to confirm, I assert the right to set the associated license. The license for both copies of the illustration, large and small, is CC BY-NC 3.0, also known as Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial 3.0. For attribution purposes, the rights holder is Tom Kiraly; also known as Thomas Kiraly or Thomas Evan Kiraly of Humana Corporation and Sheridan Healthcare. For more information about the license, click here. This illustration has always struck me as novel and interesting. Who was the person who made this thing, I wonder, and what were they thinking? It wasn't somebody who saw me as real. From school age on, Tom Kiraly considered me to be a golem. So What the Hell was this cheerful gift about? And how did the boy who set pen to paper in a fun attempt to lift spirits and entertain become the dull sludge that Tom Kiraly is today? I'll never know. The proximate issue seems to be that I'd pressured Tom Kiraly into reading books more often. He refers here to “The Making of Star Trek” though the title is misspelled. He's agreed to read the book. However, Tom “makes it clear” that this is a favor to me and should be considered a one-time thing. Tom Kiraly's drawing represents Ken Kiraly, inventor of the Amazon Kindle and technical lead at Lab126, as a silly but cute bee and mentions the name “Brother Buzz”. The bee was an early puppet and/or animated character; apparently old by the time that Tom was born. I don't know where my Brother encountered the character in question. “rusin river” and “rushing river” are references to Russian River; a body of water in rural California. The context for the river references is most likely that I was visiting my Grandparents Ivan and Olga Kmeta on the U.S. East Coast while the rest of the Kiraly Family was on a camping trip at the river in question. The remark “Dad <—> work” is clear. So is “You <—> all of scinece fict. in the world 5,000,000 pg” sic. :-) But I don't know about “Mom <—> Pickles”. Grace Kiraly liked to pretend that she was into natural foods and canning etc. But she was a dilettante. Not really a pickles person. |

140214. This is a copy of a letter for John Perrott, Family Law, of Thomas Chase Stutzman in San Jose. It's being copied to other parties as a courtesy. A copy has also been posted publicly. John, I was pleased to hear from you recently. I'd like to acknowledge that I'm late with responses to some of the letters that you've sent me over the past few months. I'll try to address this issue, if time permits, in the near future. BTW The responses will most likely be posted publicly. I can comment briefly on a few issues right now. 1. You haven't commented much on specific questions and assertions I've stated that are related to you and/or to Michael Bonetto of Hoge Fenton. For what it's worth, some of the assertions seem to be backed up by email from you that I'll most likely make public. I'm interested in your perspective on things. But I've got the impression that, for whatever reason, you're not yet comfortable about commenting. That said, I promise, again, to respond to your own points. 2. You've taken to referring to legitimate and reasonable remarks I've made about the State Bar Association as "threats". The lack of context is interesting. Context, such as Bar Association investigations, is important. Don't you agree? 3. You seem to be dodging questions related to Kiraly Case materials. To be clear, I'd like copies of *everything* that I'm entitled to. I believe that this might include more than you're offering me. 4. I request patience regarding delays in responses as I may be moving again shortly. I've spoken to a Church in the Pismo Beach area that is involved with the homeless. I feel that there may be synergy between their legitimate and reasonable goals and my own. Accordingly, I may move to the Church's area and this may affect schedules. 140210. This is a new painting in the Space Art series that I'm scanning and editing for Charles Artisan. The scan came out very well in this case. There's even a sort of 3D effect in a few places. The details are interesting too. To see a large version, in which the details are more visible, click here. Charles has this to say: “As usual, I tried to make all the colors blend but the red moon ended up standing out. I'm very pleased with the water and the whole painting came together nicely. I don't usually use the shade of blue that appears here but it worked pretty well due to a layer effect that I tried. This painting took me about an hour like most do.” The license for both copies of the painting is CC BY-NC-ND 3.0, also known as Creative Commons Attribution Noncommercial No Derivative Works 3.0. But it's what's beneath the hair that matters. Little more needs to be said. Aside from the fragment below and the random remark, “I never met a cognician that I didn't like” :P

140208. This is a copy of a letter to David Yoshida of Hoge Fenton. Dear Mr. Yoshida, 1. This letter is intended to serve as a response to a question that you asked. As this letter is of minor consequence, you do not need to respond to this letter, or confirm receipt, unless you wish to do so. 2. I reserve the right to analyze, blog, post, quote, or otherwise distribute or make use of current or future responses or related actions, in part or in whole. Assertions to the effect that responses or related actions are confidential or protected by copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property mechanisms will not be respected. 3. Regarding the question that you asked, it is my intention to communicate, presently and in the future, for legitimate and reasonable purposes, with parties who are associated with, or who may have an interest in, Hoge Fenton. This will include groups or entities that Hoge Fenton has, apparently, made contributions to, including but not limited to anti-abuse groups, groups with other positive social goals, and the Santa Clara County Bar Association, for which group, Hoge Fenton seems to have played a leadership role; specifically, a leadership role related the crafting of a document known as the Professional Standards. It will also include individuals employed by, or otherwise associated with, the firm in question. 4. The initial communication to you took place in the context outlined above. 5. You mentioned “another person in my firm”. I am, actually, interested in communication with the firm's management and Emeritus Counsel, though the status of the latter person is not presently clear. BTW It is my understanding that the management of Hoge Fenton is most likely aware that I exist. And that arguably unusual or even startling legal cases that involve both Hoge Fenton and myself exist as well. The cases in question were the responsibility of Michael Bonetto, though others were involved behind the scenes. The CEO of the SCCBA, Chris Burdick, is aware of these points too. At a later date, I hope to discuss with the CEO in question the nature of connections and/or interactions, if such exist or have existed, between the CEO in question and Hoge Fenton. Two Bar Association Investigators that I've spoken to at the State level seem to be interested; I expect to communicate further with people at that level. The Justice Department and Legislators have expressed only moderate interest but I expect to make headway with them over the next three or four years. Regardless, the communication that you've commented on was intended for you. Regards, Robert (the Old Coder) |

Woodell-Kiraly Kerfuffle

140208. This is a copy of a letter to the two law firms that are involved, as of early 2014, in legal actions that John Woodell and Virginia Chang Kiraly, the latter person being Ken Kiraly's wife and my sister in law, have initiated against each other. 1. This letter is intended for both of the law firms that are involved in the Woodell-Kiraly political kerfuffle. As this letter is of minor consequence, there's no need to respond to, or to confirm receipt of, this particular communication. Unless, of course, recipients are interested in the points discussed and they'd like to respond. 2. I have a quick question. If I write to one of the two Woodell-Kiraly law firms in the future, should I, as a general rule, carbon copy the other? Note: The point might be moot as I tend to post most significant communications these days publicly. I feel, based on experience, that this is a sensible practice. I recommend it to my readers. 3. As a point of information, most posts appear on, or are mirrored to, a set of Internet domains that Kiraly Family associates, it is believed, are actively trying to take down. Using illegal and highly prosecutable actions. It's my assumption that, at this point, both of the Woodell-Kiraly law firms are aware of, and able to access, one or more of the Internet domains in question. If there is any uncertainty, check to see whether or not kennethkiraly dot com, jameskiraly dot org, and michaelbonetto dot com are still in operation. 4. In closing, there are three related but minor notes: (a) I actively solicit interviews, articles, artwork, and other material for the Internet domains in question. If you'd like to contribute, feel free to contact me. Note that most material is released under Creative Commons or other open licenses. (b) I'll be updating tonight; Saturday 140208. A letter that has been sent to a third law firm, Hoge Fenton of San Jose, will be posted. To be clear, the matter that the Hoge Fenton letter alludes to does not directly involve either of your firms. However, two people associated, directly or indirectly, with the Woodell-Kiraly affair, Ken Kiraly and Virginia Chang Kiraly, are involved, directly or indirectly, with actions that Hoge Fenton elected to support. (c) I'm interested in pursuing torts actions myself against multiple people in connection with the matter alluded to in the preceding paragraph. It's possible that Dhillon & Smith will not be able to represent me as I'll be alleging that family members of one of its clients are impolite and/or unpleasant, have lied under oath, are involved in multiple prosecutable crimes, and/or have committed spousal and/or child abuse, and are liable, as a group, for damages of multiple types totaling in the hundreds of thousands or possibly millions of dollars. However, I see no problem with requesting a referral, from either of your firms, to an appropriate torts specialist. On the other hand, requests for referrals of other types have led, with the people in question, to confusion in the past. I dislike confusion. I trust that there will be no confusion in this context. By the way, Harmeet, do say hello again to Ken and Virginia for me. Tell them that Robert prays on a regular basis for their well-being. Regards, Robert (the Old Coder) |

140208. A conversation with Jack of Shadows. Edited for length and clarity.
<OldCoder> Back myself. Hope you feel better.
<OldCoder> You talked
<JackOfShadows> sometimes I become extremely logical
<OldCoder> Explain what you said about logical and
friends. I can review as I edit.
<JackOfShadows> sometimes i become supercritical of people and things. that seems logical. and I end up hurting people. and then I lose them. <OldCoder> Not likely to happen here. If you can discuss your views. And hammer things out jack. That is what matters to me.
<JackOfShadows> <OldCoder> And hammer things out
:)
<OldCoder> Shutting up is not required
<JackOfShadows> when something does not seem logical
it irritates me <OldCoder> I've tried to be less intense without sacrificing myself in the process. It seems to be working. I state how I feel. But I try to hammer points home more softly. <OldCoder> Some people want me gone, of course. My own Mother included. But redacted them. <OldCoder> Decide where the line is to be drawn. Keep yourself; and others who matter as well. It is possible. You should not sacrifice yourself. You can have people regardless. Make changes if you must. But remain yourself.
<JackOfShadows> hmm. thanks.
<JackOfShadows> yes thats what I have been telling myself

Letter to Lisi Zhang

A full Kiraly Cases tags system will be added in 2014.
140208. This is a copy of a letter for Lisi Zhang of Thomas Chase Stutzman (Family Law, San Jose). Lisi, you said, “Thank you Robert, I got the old one. BTW what kind of the place you are looking for live? how much rent you can pay and which area?” Thanks for writing; your time is appreciated. I'm headed out the door, but here's a brief response: 1. Computer artwork. I've attached an interesting scene that one of my online associates has done. He's sought to convey feelings using a character constructed out of blocks. 2. Old Lisi artwork site. The old Lisi Zhang artwork site was down this week. This was due to a storm and not to the data center move that I mentioned previously. It was a large storm. One associate in its path told me that 625,000 people lost power in his area alone. 3. New Lisi artwork site. The old site will be unavailable again while the data center is moved. This will happen shortly. However, if things stabilize in general, there will be a new site. It will host the additional material that you sent me last year. Note: I'd like to hear more about the characters and the stories. Especially the parts about Chinese culture and mythology. It doesn't matter if the stories are fragments. I'm good at putting things together. 4. Housing. You asked me about “how much rent you can pay and which area”. Due to the Kiraly Cases, the ones that Hoge Fenton brought on behalf on a violent abuser, my net value after debt dropped from over $200,000 in early 2012 to a few months worth of rent and expenses last year. I was able to avoid homelessness at the time. However, presently I'm back to expecting to hit a net value of zero. Therefore, I can't afford to pay anything at all. The question of “which area” is moot. 5. Physical labor. To address the issue of homelessness, I'm seeking employment. The process is complicated by the fact that, as I lack connections, I'm being offered primarily unskilled physical labor positions such as lifting boxes and stuffing envelopes. The wages are high, though. Typically, they start at $12 per hour. I'll surely be able to afford gasoline, rent, food, clothes, doctors, and medicine on $12 per hour :P I'm 55 years old. I have a rheumatoid condition that hasn't been treated formally for 10 years. I can't stand up at times. When I eat food, my fingers, which are presently swollen, sometimes spasm. It's remarkably painful. There are indications that the thyroid hypothalamus pituitary system has been malfunctioning since 2009. My breathing accelerates intermittently. I'm weak, and sometimes semi-conscious, while that lasts. My wrists stopped working normally 20 years ago and so I can't do repetitive tasks of the stuffing envelopes type. In short, unskilled physical labor is less promising than it seems at first glance :-) 6. Generalists. I'm considered skilled and capable. The assessment is accurate. I could become a specialist. As one example, a Detective (the one who'd met Virginia Chang Kiraly) told me the other night that, with training, I might qualify for a Digital Forensics position. However, a specialist position of any type would be a significant change. I'd need help to make the change and there will be no help. I've been a generalist for 35 years. My primary role has been software. Software of many different types. Voting software, a word processor, compilers, anti-terrorism, a Photoshop plug-in, web servers, a fighter-jet database, the brains of a room-sized camera, stock portfolio analysis, back-end webdev, and hundreds of other projects. I've also had roles related to Property Management, Recruiting, Customer Support, Technical Writing, Training, and Information Technology. I've even taught kids, ages 8 and up, science and mathematics, though that was long ago. One of them earned respect as a leader when he served in Iraq. Presently, I teach ages 13 to 30 webdev online and sometimes mathematics. To be clear, I learn more from others than I teach them. In short, I'm a generalist. I do a bit of everything. People of my type are invaluable to certain types of firms. But there are no job listings for “everything”. Generalist positions are obtained primarily through connections. 7. Connections. The importance of the “connections” issue can't be overstated. Business, and Life in general, is about nothing but group dynamics. The structure of the pack. We are animals. And it is as animals that we operate. It's ridiculous to pretend otherwise. We do pretend otherwise, of course. We teach children that there is a System. Some go their entire lives believing that it is so. But, the fact is, the System is primarily for show. I was literal. People said that the System existed. I believed this. I'm more educated now. And there is power in understanding the way that things work. The short term is complicated for me, though. The bottom line is that I have very few connections. I stand outside the packs and therefore outside the world. People, aside from autistics and the homeless, generally have professional connections, personal connections, and family members. This is sometimes referred to as a “support network”. I have no such network. And, despite Grace Kiraly's caustic remarks to the contrary, it was never a “choice”. Most of my long-term connections in professional contexts are elderly, retired, or deceased. Or they're gone because I didn't realize that I was supposed to maintain them. To be clear, I've grown attached to some of my elderly connections. John Perrott of Thomas Chase Stutzman will recall the Thermal Physicist that I introduced him to. He and she had common views regarding God's plans for the Nation of Israel. I like the Thermal Physicist. Additionally, she continues to work on the technology that she believes God has directed her to create. I'll help her with Matlab issues later today. But I don't think it will lead to employment. In the 10 years that I've known her, she's never had sufficient funding. DNA the 82 year old attorney is another case. I'm glad to have known him and to have learned from his example. He and I discuss business at times. He's creative and his ideas are interesting. But he's a startuper. Startups are Night Jobs; the ventures where dreams are worked on. Right now, I need to pay the rent. For that, a Day Job is required. I was autistic, or a parallel condition, despite Michael Bonetto's bizarre attempt to prove otherwise. I rarely maintained professional connections. Or built personal connections outside professional contexts. Most of the personal connections that I possessed started directly or indirectly from professional ones. This leaves family members. For me, there isn't much to work with there. Primarily two Brothers. Ken Kiraly is, or was, potentially my most useful connection. And, until the Kiraly Cases started, I figured he'd be pleased to offer assistance. After all, I'd allowed him to live with me rent free for years, I'd gotten him his first job, and I'd helped him in other ways. I'd also put up with Ken Kiraly's sh*t. I supported his efforts despite everything that he did to me. When he told me that the Multiscope startup money was gone (this was before Symantec bought out his firm), I told him, “No problem”. But when I asked my Mother Grace to pass a request for a reference or referral on to Ken, Grace refused. I didn't try to seek help from Ken after that. I did try to contact him regarding service of legal papers as I was pretty sure that I'd need to sue our abuser, Jim Kiraly of Pismo Beach. Ken's response was, apparently, to encourage Amazon Corporation employees to make threats against me. Post continues below the photo. |
Tom Kiraly has been Vice President of this 'n' that. But I never considered asking him for help. When he was young, he got by on an “air” that he managed to project. He was the “cool” one. When Ken and I got Tom *his* first job, he did show promise in business. However, over the years, it became clear that he was a fool. There was an abrupt change in March 2008. I'd spent over 35 years in what appears to have been an unusual state. I believe that it was brought on by damage that had been done. Damage both at home and at school. I've been told that I suffered “severe” abuse. Beyond the usual bounds of what can be survived. I think, in the end, I did not survive. But, in a single night, I returned. I realized what I needed to do. Twisted Time, by the way, was the first person that I went to see. After a number of false starts, I started to make progress and by mid-2012 things were coming together. But all of that was smashed by the people who were supposed to help but instead attacked and tore what remained of my life into shreds. My life wasn't much at that point. But it was mine and they ripped it apart. Most of my possessions are gone. Even the bookcases that I offered to you. So is the place that I lived in for 25 years. It was substandard housing. Josef, a materials manager that I know, called the conditions there “deplorable”. By the way, I ended up there to begin with because of Ken Kiraly. Regardless, it was home for decades and it's lost. Well, we'll see what happens now. I have a rough idea of what might be possible. I'll navigate until land is sighted. At that point, I'll claim new territory. If the territory needs to be conquered, so be it. Regards, Robert (the Old Coder) |

140207. This is a copy of a letter to Harmeet Dhillon, Virginia Chang Kiraly's attorney for the Woodell-Kiraly defamation dispute, that was sent on Thursday night 140206. ATTN: Harmeet Dhillon Dear Ms. Dillon, There is no need to respond to this letter or to confirm that it is received. It is minor and such steps are not required in this instance. I've received an acknowledgment of your firm's receipt of a more significant letter that was sent recently. As you provided no additional questions, it appears that any concerns you may have had at this time have been addressed. If I've accomplished this, and thereby brought your initial inquiry to a satisfactory conclusion, I'm pleased. You may, of course, write to me again regarding the subject in question. Or any subject that's of interest to you. Since age six, I've tried to be helpful. To Virginia Chang Kiraly's husband Ken as well as to others. Did you know that I slammed a car door shut on my hand once because I believed that Ken's Father would hurt him otherwise? As the years pass, I'll continue to look for ways to help. It's important to me that I manage to be useful. Oh, there's another minor question for Ken. Not significant as I'll ask him directly some day. I watched Michael Bonetto's body language during a 2013 deposition related to abuse committed by Virginia Chang Kiraly's Father-in-Law. The question is related to skills that I'm finally developing after half a century. It appears that I'm proficient at some things when I remember to be proficient. I wasn't well that day as I hadn't eaten for two weeks. And I was exhausted after racing to get to the deposition using public transit. I think I slipped a couple of times while running in the rain. I was frightened too. Odd, I'm not frightened any more. Not of the Kiralys, at any rate. It's interesting how one evolves when it's necessary. Regardless, I did try to “gather information”. The results for one test of Michael Bonetto that I did were inconclusive. But they were far enough into the grey area that I remain curious. I'd like to know if it was Ken Kiraly himself who came to me in IRC, expressed fury related to the occasion of my birthday in 2012, and told me not only to kill myself but exactly how to proceed. Or if it was one of Ken's associates instead. I don't remember if it was that person or another who told me “stop fighting or Amazon will grease your ass”. That statement, though colorful, seems less important. It doesn't really sound like Ken. Regardless of who the speaker was, I'd like to learn what Amazonian lubrication of this sort entails. Preferably not by direct experience; I gather that the procedure is messy and I prefer to be tidy. Yours truly, Robert (the Old Coder) |

Letter to Rhiannon

general letter

140206. This is a copy of a letter to Rhiannon. Minor edits for length and clarity. Rhiannion, I received your remarks about tutoring. To respond: 1. Some tutoring firms are scams. One of the best known, online at any rate, is a particularly egregious example. 2. I did make a positive impression on the head of a legitimate “No Child Left Behind” firm. He and I will speak further. But “No Child Left Behind” tutoring is likely to net, I'd guess, no more than $150 to $350 per month after gasoline, self-employment taxes (which tutors must pay in addition to other taxes), and other expenses. 3. I've known a teacher in the area, Nancy Meyer, since we were both roughly age 10. About 45 years now. On a recent trip to see Twisted Time in the hospital (you apparently know about Twisted Time based on what you've told me), Nancy suggested that I apply to High Schools for tutoring jobs at that level. As there is theoretically a demand for AP-Calculus-BC category tutoring, and as I was High Honors in Mathematics, I thought I'd give it a try. However, only two High Schools called me back. They did so because I had direct and indirect associations with the schools in question. This is the way that things work. Business, and Life in general, are about associations and connections. Pack dynamics supersede all else. It's possible that you may have observed this yourself. Since High Schools have large lists of tutors to draw upon, more than two schools are needed. There will be no significant income from High School tutoring. 4. I can't press Nancy for further assistance with tutoring connections. She is pleasant but the situation is awkward due to the legal cases that my abuser brought against me. I've spoken loudly about the matter and most people are “put off” by that. As though victims are the ones who ought to be ashamed. Though Nancy communicates with me, Twisted Time is really the last significant living person that remains from the first two decades of my life. The others are dead, or they've scattered due to the legal cases, though some left because I fell physically ill and people don't like that, or they're gone because I abandoned them. And, as you've apparently read about this, you're aware that Twisted Time lives in a candle flame. As an added complication, another associate of Nancy and myself (and Twisted Time), Akhil, the man who runs Yale Law School, went through my websites last night to see what I've said about him. It might have been one of Akhil's students; I'm not sure. But the person in question focused on pages that mentioned my classmate and the schools that we attended; Walnut Creek Intermediate and Las Lomas High School. If Akhil is displeased, further discussions with Nancy aren't likely to make either of them happy. It's tricky because Nancy pressured me to phone Akhil about a year ago against my better judgment. Akhil did not express enthusiasm about the call. And I'm irritated by his response. Best to put these people aside. Regardless, I'm done apologizing for the choices that “normal” people make. I'm not going to take further responsibility for the decisions and delusions of others. In more than one context. 5. I know two other people presently who are, or may be, located within shouting distance of me. You and std::vector, whose story you may have read. By the way, std::vector is reunited with his wife and child. If either of you is able to comment further on tutoring venues, this will be useful. However, it is not expected. 6. I'm evaluating other options. This week, I attempted to visit a number of employment-related firms. The majority had shut down; they no longer existed. Some places were “job training centers”. These were (and are) places with educational programs. The programs teach people how to fill out employment applications. A woman at one of those places told me: “There are no jobs. However, we have plentiful resources. you can use one of our computers to look for jobs on the Internet. There are also photocopy machines to photocopy resumes with.” I spoke with the head of one actual employment agency, as opposed to training center, that was highly rated. This is what he said to me: “We focus primarily on placing admin assistants. And, to be an admin assistant, you must already be an admin assistant. There will be no admin assistant job for you.” “It is possible that we can give you three days work, of unskilled physical labor, for minimum wage, far away. Gasoline costs will eat up a chunk of the pay. However, as you are old and unemployed, and as you have no skills, unskilled physical labor is the best that you are likely to do.” I'm paraphrasing a bit :-) However, this was the gist of it. Dr. Corey, a temporary roommate whose recipe for Curry Lucky Clucky I've posted online for your dining pleasure, feels that I should try out for the unskilled physical labor position. But it seems odd that 35 years of experience plus a resume that people refer to positively translates to unskilled physical labor at minimum wage. More importantly, I can't actually stand up some days. Problems with moving about that you probably noticed last year have progressed. Standing up all day or lifting boxes etc. isn't possible. Repetitive motion jobs such as stuffing envelopes are inadvisable too. My wrists stopped working normally back in 1992; I can type primarily because I've adapted to the issue gradually over decades. 7. But, who knows? A retired Police Detective advised me a few nights ago, at 1:00am, that I should seek a certificate in Digital Forensics. He said that this path might lead to high pay. The story behind this discussion is amusing; you're invited to read it elsewhere in a venue that you're familiar with. Regards, Robert (the Old Coder) |

140204. I've heard from Harmeet K. Dhillon, the attorney who is representing Virginia Chang Kiraly in the Woodell-Kiraly legal dispute. Her letter is reproduced below. My response follows her letter. Mr. Kiraly — I am the partner at Dhillon & Smith handling the lawsuit by John Woodell. I understand you have spoken with my paralegal, Brian. My associate on this case, Krista Shoquist, is also copied here. First, please know that I have passed along your regards to my client and your brother. They were well received. I was wondering about your comments to Brian about transcription of comments. Have you spoken to counsel for Mr. Woodell? Did he tell you that he wants to involve you in the lawsuit for some reason? Whatever information about that you can pass along to me would be helpful to ensure that any such efforts are properly coordinated. Please do not hesitate to contact me concerning this matter. Best regards, Harmeet This is a copy of my response: Dear Ms. Dillon, 1. First, it's important in life, as your client will surely agree, that channels of communication be clear so that confusion can be minimized or, ideally, avoided altogether. When communications are not received, or if they are misunderstood, issues may arise. Damage may be done. Accordingly, it's requested that, at a time that's convenient to you, the receipt of this letter be acknowledged and that any points which are not clear be indicated so that they may be clarified. 2. I'm pleased to learn that greetings were conveyed to Ken Kiraly and to his wife, Virginia Chang Kiraly, and that the greetings were well received. Thank you for comments to this effect. I would not have wished relatives to believe that I take family connections lightly or that, as the days and nights pass, family members are ever distant, more than momentarily, from my heart or my thoughts. As I write this sentence, I'm glancing at a photo of Kenneth taken many years ago. It's heartening to have photos and other reminders of the Past. I've lost many such reminders as most of my possessions are gone now due to events of the past two years. Even more have disappeared over the past month as I've lost my home of 25 years. I'm preoccupied, too, with a decrease in mobility. It's become difficult to stand up at times. There are annoyances of other types. For example, there's a particular party in Dallas, Texas, with connections to buildings near 1911 North Lamar St. and the 1700 block of North Harwood St. in that city, who might be involved in highly prosecutable felonies, specifically violations of CFAA (Computer Fraud and Abuse Act), that are intended to target me and to prevent, in an illegal manner, public discussions of past events. Say, if time permits, will you ask Ken Kiraly and Virginia Chang Kiraly if either is able to shed light on the identity of the Dallas, Texas person? It's simply a thought. But letters that the Dallas, Texas person sent me, which seemed to be threatening in tone, strongly suggested that the person in question was in close communication with Kiraly family members. And Ken and Virginia are, of course, family members. But, of what importance are temporal issues? Once I'm up and about, I'm as active as ever. I was able to retain a small amount of memorabilia to remind me of people. And I do think about them. 3. You asked me two specific questions. I'll answer them below: (a) Yes, I've spoken to counsel for Mr. Woodell. (b) No, counsel for Mr. Woodell has not, as of this writing, indicated that he does, or does not, wish to involve me in the current matter. 4. There are some additional notes below related to communication. Presently, I consider the points mentioned here to be minor. However, they are mentioned here in the interests of transparency and completeness. (a) Mr. Woodell, or somebody with the same name and, apparently, the same occupation, seems to have visited my LinkedIn profile. However, as of this writing, he and I have not spoken verbally. (b) An unidentified party, located in Menlo Park, seems to be interested in me. This is not unusual but it's most likely connected to the Woodell-Kiraly case. The party in question spent several hours late at night recently researching me. I geolocated the party in question using their IPV4, identified a Menlo Park house that was close to the IPV4 point of presence, obtained an associated phone number, and spoke with somebody at the phone number. As it turned out, the person that I spoke with was, if I understood correctly, a retired Detective who'd met Virginia Chang Kiraly and who was familiar with the cellphone part of the Woodell-Kiraly case. However, this was apparently a coincidence. Though he'd occupied the Menlo Park house previously, he'd moved. He wasn't the person who'd been conducting research. The Detective was not connected to the Woodell-Kiraly case himself and had no interest in it. He did offer me useful advice. The advice was related to technical issues; specifically, to geolocation, to digital forensics, and to Police Department budgets and hiring decisions. He added that he'd heard the house in Menlo Park was now occupied, if I understood correctly, by a federal agent of some type. Whether or not this is true, the resident and/or person who researched me may have been Mr. Woodell, an associate of his, or an associate of Ken's or Virginia's. It's unlikely that it was Ken or Virginia directly. 6. If there are additional developments, I'll most likely notify you. I'll also keep your invitation, “Please do not hesitate to contact me concerning this matter”, in mind. In the interim, I remain: Yours truly, Robert (the Old Coder) |

140203. Seth Rosenberg, the attorney who is representing John Woodell in a legal dispute that involves my sister in law Virginia Chang Kiraly, phoned me just now. I expressed interest in the Kiraly-Woodell affair and offered to provide such assistance as I could to help to bring a regrettable situation to a conclusion. It's not clear that I can be useful in this context. However, I do have some experience with the Kiralys and with unusual and false claims that, according to statements made by Ken Kiraly's mother, originated with Ken Kiraly and Virginia Chang Kiraly. If I'm asked to testify regarding the propensity of Kiraly Family members, including Virginia Chang Kiraly, to say odd things that have no basis in fact, I'll be pleased to do so under oath. |
