Introduction
Are you ready to go down the rabbit hole? To visit a surreal world, where black is white and white is carrots?
A friend, Metacognician in Shanghai, describes the situation as follows: “Life is more absurd than movies. I've gone down the rabbit hole too, when it just becomes more and more strange and you wonder how that all is supposed to make sense.” I asked him if I should just embrace it. He answered, “Why should you ... change the universe?”
It started with a psychotic named Jim Kiraly who resides, we think, at 6329 Twinberry Circle, Avila Beach, California.
Jim Kiraly is a respected citizen. A churchgoer. A Vice President of Transamerica Corporation. And a violent abuser who tried to use an emergency anti-violence measure, one intended to protect battered women, to stop his victim in a wheelchair from writing a book.
Concise enough? :)
For attorneys: Jim Kiraly filed for CLETS against his son and victim, who lived 200 miles away, did not own a car, and was in a wheelchair. His son and victim was not asked to end communications. Jim had no (zero) specific and relevant allegations that were not perjury. But he turned down repeated offers of no-contact and a signed stipulation that gave him everything but CLETS. He insisted on CLETS if his victim ever once “discussed” him with third parties.
In the end, Jim Kiraly signed an agreement far weaker than the ones he'd been offered.
A review of Court paperwork and other materials will tend to confirm that Jim and other parties, including attorneys on all sides, committed multiple felonies, crimes, and faux pas. :P
The word “abuser” is stated here publicly and without equivocation. A formal offer is hereby made to reaffirm the word in writing and under oath. Attorneys will understand the significance of the point. In short, there is little terror of a threatened defamation suit on this side. Actually, we feel that such a suit will fit nicely up Jim Kiraly's abuser ass.
Jim has one son, Ken Kiraly, who invented the Amazon Kindle and is one of the leads at Amazon's secret Lab126. Another son, Tom Kiraly is one of the leads, a Vice President-CFO type, at medical insurance firms, including one of the largest, Humana Corporation.
These people and some of the biggest names in Silicon Valley legal circles have committed or are involved in multiple crimes.
For the next decade or two, we're going to explore the crimes that these people committed, the motivations and the denial involved, the background and histories that led each person to make the choices that they did, and ways to build upon what happened and move towards positive societal goals.
There's plenty to go over. These people committed or were involved in: Spousal abuse, child abuse, DDOS (a highly prosecutable violation of CFAA), extortion, perjury, conspiracy to commit perjury (a possible felony), false police reports, conspiracy to file false police reports (a possible felony), unlawful threats, barratry, defamation, malpractice, civil harassment, criminal harassment, abuse of process, and violations of SCCBA Professional Standards.
The point was to force Jim's oldest son and victim, me, to sign a gag order. I was in a wheelchair. I'd never made a single inappropriate threat against my abuser. I wasn't even asked to not to call anybody. But Jim threatened to put me in a violence database unless I agreed never to write about him.
I won the right to write, but I lost my home of 25 years, most of my possessions, my chances for retirement, everything. Everything but a realization.
I can make a difference. I can conduct research for legitimate and reasonable purposes, document what happened, and analyze the choices of the people involved:
- Jim Kiraly, abuser. Possibly Treasurer at St. Johns Lutheran Church. Vice President of Transamerica Corporation. Also connected to New Life Pismo Church. Involved with Service Core for Retired Executives (SCORE).
- Grace Kiraly, abuse victim and Christ Follower.
- Tom Kiraly, abuse victim, VP or CFO of firms such as Hanger Inc., Humana Corporation, and Sheridan Healthcare.
- Gail Cheda, slightly demented Realtor, spittle flying.
- Ken Kiraly, abuse victim, inventor of the Amazon Kindle, lead at Amazon's secret Lab126, sociopath.
- Tom Stutzman of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a Family Law attorney whose hobbies include martial arts and alleged sexual harassment
- John Perrott of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a personable albeit lazy Family Law attorney who has a slight tendency towards fraud and malpractice
- Chris Burdick, head of the Santa Clara County Bar Association (SCCBA). Chris, you broke a written promise to speak with me because, you said, we had “Prior...” You didn't finish the sentence. Were you worried that I might take false statements to the State Bar? What's the deal with you and Hoge Fenton, anyway? What will we find if we dig?
- Michael Bonetto of Hoge Fenton. Michael, seriously, what are you?
- Alison Buchanan of Hoge Fenton, ethics specialist. Alison, did you contribute to the SCCBA Professional Standards, or was that before your time?
- Tracie Zerr of Thomas Chase Stutzman, a woman of boundless intelligence and sensitivity.
- Maggie Desmond of Hoge Fenton. Maggie, information, please. What is your role in Hoge Fenton's campaign to hush victims of abuse? When the clients that you've protected beat up women, how do you compartmentalize?
Maggie told me that she didn't know what she could say to me about what happened. However, we have decades to work it out. It will be productive. I'd like to direct the attention of attorneys and other parties to the:

130109.3. I was waiting in line to pay for purchases at a local store the other day. The customer in front of me decided at the last moment not to purchase a toy. Ordinary moment but it caught my attention because the toy seemed half-familiar. And only half. It turned out to be an old friend. I asked the cashier if I could photograph it and she said sure. The toy was a Snoopy. Charlie Brown's dog. The 1950s Snoopy, so I didn't recognize him at first. I remember the dog primarily as he was in the 1960s and 1970s. He'd changed a little by then. Charlie Brown was a cartoon boy who was vilified and often depressed. More seriously in the 1950s and 1960s, I think, than later on. When LittleCoder was about nine years old, he treasured the Charlie Brown books because they seemed to be about him. LittleCoder tried to match up the characters in the stories to students in his school class. If he was in the books, he figured, the other kids should be there as well. It was logical. But he couldn't quite make real life and the storyboard line up. Snoopy toys are more lovable than the original character. The original character was self-centered, dismissive of Charlie Brown, and by the 1970s, slightly insane. But, like Charlie Brown, he was wonderful in his own way. Most old folks in the U.S. remember that Snoopy used to fly his doghouse into battles with the Red Baron. A lesser known piece of trivia is that Snoopy's doghouse was larger on the inside than on the outside. Like the Tardis. I believe he had an entire gallery of paintings in there at one point. Snoopy acquired a bird friend named Woodstock after the music festival of the same name took place. They were pretty close for a while. I miss Snoopy, Woodstock, Charlie Brown, and the rest. Their stories were one of the things that kept LittleCoder alive. Out of the oblivion where the Kiralys wish to send him now. When the truth is hidden LittleCoder will be truly dead. The boy didn't deserve what happened. |

130109.4. Every time that I pass the store in the photo below, or for that matter, any restaurant or store that focuses on “natural” foods, I think of Grace Kiraly. Grace Kiraly attributed her youthful appearance partly to the fact that she didn't eat much meat. James Kiraly used to force her to eat meat because he could not abide having her eat something different than he did. However, we'll hold that story for another time. The part that matters tonight is that vegetarian philosophy and lifestyle became part of Grace Kiraly in a way that Christian philosophy and lifestyle did not. To Grace, Christ was something to be shaped to suit her purposes. But Healthy Food was something that she allowed to shape her. The distinction is important. The things that we shape to our own ends and the things that shape us... the choices between them are the choices that define us. |

130109.5. Recently, Tactician told me: Looking for a great book on computer science. I saw your blog post the other day and the boy was holding a book about computer basics. Which inspired me to learn about it. To see the photo that Tactician is talking about, click here. I responded that one of LittleCoder's favorite books on the subject is available for free online. I'd like to share the book with him and with you. The book is called How to Build a Working Digital Computer. It explains how computers work and shows how to build one out of paperclips. Not a joke. The paperclip computer actually worked. The book was published in 1967, when LittleCoder was quite young. Two years later, in 1969, a company named Comspace produced a professional version called the Arkay CT-650. The professional version looked like this:
The book is part of the Bitsavers collection hosted by the University of Stuttgart. Copies are available in PDF, Kindle, and other formats. Questions related to copyright issues may be directed to Bitsavers or to the Internet Archive, which hosts a mirror. Here are some links that may be useful:
When LittleCoder saw the book's cover, he had to have the book. Here's the cover that he liked: 130109.6. As a related point, Tactician was under the impression that computers are necessarily electronic in nature: My main interest alongside learning about how computers work, is how electricity can hold information. I mean without electricity, there would be no working computer. I mean a digital computer. I responded: Digital is not electronic. Digital means zero or one. Any mechanism that can hold zero or one and switch between them based on an input can be used to build a digital computer. Electricity happens to make transistors possible. They are quite convenient. But not the only way. There is an xkcd story below that may help. The computer in the story would be as real as the PC on your desk:

130107.2. I slipped into overload over the past few days. Nothing too dramatic. Tired. Spent more time than usual in the breathing “shock” state. Distinctions between physical, mental, and emotional distress were no longer clear. I tackled a number of tasks and then realized I needed to triage them. I probably slept off and on from 2:00am to 10:00am Sunday 130106. Then from 6:30am to 11:15am Monday 130107. On Monday afternoon, I phoned the Baron and told him he'd been largely useless to me in recent years. That, like some others, he considered the simple fact that we're speaking to be a gift from God Himself to me. That it was important but not such a favor that I should feel ecstatic to be blessed by the Heavens in this way. Then I asked him to help me publicize this weblog :-) If I'd written what I wanted to say I'd have put it more gently. The writer side and the one who talks out loud remain different. But these days I perceive that I'm the writer side. It's the talking side that's the anomaly. |

130107.3. This is a note to Michael Bonetto of Hoge Fenton. Michael Bonetto, I'm feeling reflective due to the birth that I'll write about in a few minutes. I'm not in the mood to mock you presently though you make it easy. For example, do you think I'm ever going to let the “Hacking” nonsense go? What are you thinking? By now, you understand that I'm thinking long-term. Far past Long Cause. That when you lied, and let's call a spade a spade in this context, you started something that it isn't possible to win over time. Your world, where you earn your living, is a puppet show. You rely on the fact that people don't understand the truth. The truth is that you're pretending. But I can see the strings.
I could see the strings
It is not a skill
Why James did what he did My guess is that you know better, at this point, than to try to position philosphical and/or peremptory remarks as “threats” or “threatening tone”. Am I correct, Michael? I'm going to expect some interviews. Not immediately but after things settle down. We don't need to discuss specifics of cases. But I feel that your input may be helpful in general as I proceed to write. If you don't grant interviews, note that I have the right to conduct lawful and appropriate research regardless. Do you contest this? |

130107.5. I've noticed that Tariq seems to be speaking to me again. Others are saying hello. Somebody who seemed wary of me after the legal actions started in June is also talking to me. The communication is acting as validation at some level. I feel real. This is something that the Kiralys always denied me. Decades ago and even last year. Last year, 2012, Thomas Kiraly couldn't even be troubled to ask me not to speak with him. I was an object; not a person to make a request of. So Thomas filed CLETS instead. It's worth noting that the Kiraly Cases have forced me to change. If the Kiralys had not done what they've done, the lies, the damage to my health, my finances, and my future, perhaps I'd have continued the same way as before forever. To fight the Kiralys, James, Grace, Thomas, and Kenneth, to be able to look at these caricatures of people that are filled with self-importance and hate, and even to laugh at them, I had to come back from where I was sent. To come back from what happened. To become real at last. Is this what happened? In a manner of speaking, yes, I think. However, there's more to it. The trip back from where the boy was sent started in 2008. I know that my perspective on things shifted in a single night and that I immediately tried to reassemble a life. Grace Kiraly wanted me to refer to the change as a spiritual awakening. However, it wasn't any such thing. It was a recovery from abuse. When I refused to think of it as an act of Jesus, come to heal me of unspecified sinful ways, Grace became more and more hostile. I was a fool to attempt to connect to my biological family. Or to expect anything but hate from them. If they'd allowed me to become real, they'd have looked at me and seen themselves. Seen what had happened. Yeah, that's likely. 130107.6. I'm going to repost a song here from around 1970 and the conclusion that I shouted at Chaos in 2012. It feels right to do so.
I'm a mechanical boy
I will write
I will do the right thing
There is a song
I am the boy in the song 130107.7. I'm up very late thinking about my life because a baby is being born right now. This minute. I like the idea of being present for this though my presence is only symbolic. I wish the child a better life than LittleCoder had. And she'll have it. I can read people now. I'm no longer blind to them. The child's parents will take care of her. She will feel not only safe but needed. She will be real from the start. This will be her parents' most important gift to her. |

130107.10. The photo below shows a newspaper rack. It's damaged and parts are abandoned. Like the industry it serves. I loved newspapers for decades. They were great. Local stories, national news, comic strips, puzzles, trivia, movie reviews. All fresh and new every day. And on Sundays... pages and pages of color comics. In the 1980s, for a while, I read three different newspapers. I clipped the best articles from each, sorted the clippings, and saved them for future reference. The clippings couldn't be grepped and a future where they were useful never came. However, I liked having them around “just in case”. Daily newspapers, my old friends, are dead now. The Internet killed them a decade ago. They won't come back in their original form. To pretend otherwise is a fantasy. The editor of one of the surviving papers in my area wrote a plea to his readers a few years ago. “You need my paper,” he said. “We are useful. Therefore tell me how to remain in business.” His plea struck me as ironic. His newspaper had made all the wrong decisions. Decisions guaranteed to kill it. To reduce costs, the publisher deleted sections of interest to local readers. Stopped carrying some comic strips and reduced the size of others. Switched to cheaper paper. The newspaper even reduced the Sunday comics section to just two sheets of paper. Just two sheets of Sunday comics? It was like putting a dress on a skeleton and referring to the result as a fashion queen. Most importantly, the publisher stopped putting the newspaper in newsracks. So people couldn't even buy it. Like most failing businesses, the newspaper was obsessed with cost cutting. Long term growth was given lip service but basically ignored. Cost cutting led to decreased sales. Decreased sales led to more cost cutting. This is known as a Spiral of Death. By the time the editor made his plea, I hadn't seen his newspaper in a newsrack for months. For all intents and purposes it was already gone. So I shrugged and turned back to my keyboard. To the Internet where everything lives today. |

130107.11. The Kiraly Cases blog has evolved rapidly in a short time. I'd like to think my writing is improving. It's probably time to explore the use of additional venues to broaden public awareness of the cases. Tonight I submitted an introductory post to a new First Amendment community named ValleyAnon. There's a copy of the post below. And here's a link to the ValleyAnon version: Plus my ValleyAnon index page: http://valleyanon.com/users/14 Similar posts will go to other First Amendment communities in the future. Additionally, discussions related to mirrors and First Amendment legal issues are welcome. If you can advise me on possible ways to raise public awareness, contact me.
ValleyAnon will serve a purpose. A useful one. There are potential issues but they'll be worked out. I especially like the possibility that hidden services may be used in the future. It will be impossible, in the end, to take things down. This is important because it helps to balance the scales. Power and wealth versus freedom of speech. It matters to me because there's something that I need to talk about. And they're trying to shut me down. I'm Robert Kiraly. Also known as Robert Crowley, OldCoder, and BoldCoder. My father is James Kiraly, former Vice President of Transamerica. One brother is Kenneth Kiraly of Amazon Lab126. I'm told that Kenneth is the architect of the Amazon Kindle. Brother Thomas Kiraly is a Vice President of Humana Corporation. James was abusive. It was a long time ago. But in 2012 he came after me in legal actions known as CLETS. He was afraid I'd tell people about his past. What actually happened is that I called my mother's church with her full permission. The call was scheduled in advance through normal channels. Pastor Ron and I discussed Christ Followers. The responsibilities of Christians in the temporal world as well. Nothing was said about the subject that James feared. But James ranted about this call and another of a similar nature. He told others “don't be afraid” to “give me something” so that he could “prosecute Bob”. Ironically, James has now forced me to talk about the situation. I kept silent for decades. But there is no longer a choice. James sought the assistance of Thomas and Kenneth. The results were interesting. There are huge piles of material which suggest in a vague way that I've hacked Amazon Corporation, demanded money for medical care, stalked family members, etc. The stalking part is funny. I called Thomas Kiraly, my brother, around his 52nd birthday to wish him Happy Birthday. The call was prearranged. At the end, he invited me to call back in two or three weeks. Throughout the months that followed, Thomas never once asked me not to call him. But he now describes the Happy Birthday call as stalking. Thomas has even cited my attempt to leave him religious poetry by our grandfather Ivan Kmeta in my will as an extortion attempt though he doesn't say how that would actually work. “Here, Robert is dead... He commands you not to urinate on his grave.” But there is not a single specific and significant allegation I'm presently aware of except for the claim that I phoned my parents repeatedly on a single day in 2011. This was the day that James threatened me with the Pismo Beach police and declined to explain what the threats were about. James notes that I sent him and Grace, my mother, postcards telling them that they could not stop my book. He neglects to mention that I discussed the postcards in advance with the Pismo Beach police. These people are wealthy. I'm largely unemployed. In a wheelchair part time. I go into shock sometimes when I eat food. I've lost 65 pounds since the cases started. I'm autistic though I'm no longer ashamed of this. The only way that I can fight back against my family's attempts to hurt me is through the Web. But the Kiraly attorney, Michael Bonetto of Hoge Fenton in San Jose, California, has fought to take down website content and even domains. I'm told that my sites are controversial and that Michael will make them the cornerstone of cases against me as there is no other way for him to proceed. If Michael Bonetto succeeds in shutting down my sites, he'll return to his previous demands. There is a razor sharp focus on one issue in particular. Michael is intent on imposing prior restraint on consensual interactions with third parties. He has, for example, tried to force me to pay $5,000 for each phone call that I make to news media, religious groups, and child abuse organizations. ValleyAnon and similar frameworks are the answer. A way to get the truth out there. If Hoge Fenton succeeds in taking down my sites, I'll relocate some of the content here. Until then, please visit my sites to read about a very odd story. Here are a couple of the links: http://christfollower.me/ http://haggishell.com/ |

Conflict also seemed to be slightly annoyed. I wanted to make it clear that no offense was intended by anything that was said. Alteriffic simply wore me out. I do have real-life issues to deal with. For starters, the Kiralys are trying to hurt me. Relentlessly. And they're doing a good job of it. Additionally, the Chaos alters don't seem to need much sleep but I need more than I've been getting.
